Puruscent didn’t start in a lab — it started with a simple frustration: natural deodorants that either stopped working by noon, or worked fine but left skin irritated. So the formula was built and rebuilt by hand, one small batch at a time, until it held up to a full day. Today that formula carries the name Natural Confidence — and a registered trademark to match.
“These ingredients and proportions work very well. The deodorant does not flake up when dried and effectively eliminates underarm odor.” — Trial 20 notes, the batch we build every bottle from today.
Like most natural deodorants, our first batches leaned on baking soda for odor control. It worked — until it didn’t agree with sensitive skin, which sent the formula back to the drawing board in search of a gentler mineral alternative.
A trial with too much calcium chloride caused real skin irritation on freshly shaved underarms — a mistake we took seriously. It reshaped how carefully every mineral ingredient is measured, and it’s why the label still explicitly warns against applying to freshly shaved skin.
Switching to arrowroot powder gave the formula a smoother, clearer finish that held up through a full day of wear without flaking.
Coconut, castor, and tea tree oils carry arrowroot, zinc oxide, and a carefully tested amount of calcium chloride. No baking soda, no aluminum, no parabens, no talc, no water — just the six ingredients that earned their place after twenty rounds of real-world testing.
With our GS1 UPC now assigned and the production label finalized, we’re moving into manufacturing — scaling the same formula under proper cosmetic manufacturing practices, with every ingredient concentration re-verified along the way.
